Tuna and egg bento
The bare tuna-paste bento was a great success, but with the arrival of my new bento container, I was left with some extra unused space. I decided to fill the space with easy to make and very tasty iri tamago, which is basically a Japanese kind of scrambled eggs! You can definitely use iri tamago in onigiri, or as a small side dish.

Simple chicken teriyaki bento
This recipe is very easy and fast to cook, because it requires ready-made teriyaki sauce. Still, it's a really tasty alternative to sausages and pork, and chicken made in teriyaki style is juicy, tender and full of aroma! It also takes just few minutes, because the meat is first fried quickly, and then glazed with sauce. Fast food like a boss ;-)

Fancy tamagoyaki bento
Oh my, this one is both a looker and tastes amazingly! :-) This bento idea is based on the basic tamagoyaki recipe, so feel free to use your favorite ingredients: champignons or chanterelle mushroom, herbs, different kinds of onion, bacon bits, ham shavings etc. Go crazy! :-) It's also a very good side dish!

Teriyaki salmon bento
I think life is too short to keep the frozen salmon in the fridge! :-) So I made a teriyaki salmon bento, which was so fast to cook, that I had too much idle time in the morning... Just be careful not to overcook the teriyaki sauce, because it may have a burnt taste. Also, optional lotus root slices will keep the fish tender and juicy for the time when you can finally devour every last bit of it ;-)

Teriyaki pork strips with shallots bento
This simple recipe requires only 3 ingredients: sliced pork loin (already mentioned minute steaks or easy steaks), shallots and teriyaki sauce. It's also one of the lazy recipes — part of it you can prepare evening before, and finish it quickly before serving or packing your bento box. Plus, marinating for a long time allows increased flavors to transfer easily across the meat!
