Teriyaki Smoked Salmon Don
Easy: 4 steps, 11 minutes
There is literally no easier recipe in the world, that tastes so good and takes only few minutes to cook, including rice cooking time! I always do it during hot summer days, because it's a no-brainer.
You can serve it as a main dish with more fancy toppings, or as a side dish, but also it's a great addition to bento or a small snack!
Step #1: Collect ingredients
You will need these ingredients for each person:
- 1 cup of sticky rice,
- 2 or 3 slices of smoked salmon (it usually comes packed in 2-3 milimeter slices),
- teriyaki sauce,
- seasoning of your choice (e.g. salad herbs, dried onion).
Step #2: Collect utensils
You will only need a rice cooker and a shallow bowl for each person.
Step #3: Cook rice (10 minutes)
Follow the instructions of your rice cooker, or instructions on the box when cooking rice in the pot.
Step #4: Assemble the Don (1 minute)
Fill each bowl with piping-hot rice, then cover the surface with salmon slices and splash them with teriyaki sauce. Sprinkle with herbs. Bon apetit!
