Creamy red-pepper chicken
This is my favorite chicken recipe, which is both simple and delicious! You can easily adjust it to your liking with your favorite spices and herbs, and it's virtually impossible to fail making this recipe.
Ingredients for 1 portion
- Chicken breast: 200g
- 1x Red pepper (190g)
- 1x Onion (135g)
- Rapeseed oil: 1 spoon (15g)
- Garlic powder: ½ teaspoons (3g)
- Sweet pepper powder: 1 teaspoon (5g)
- Chili powder: ¼ teaspoons (1g)
- Salt: ¼ teaspoons (1g)
- Black pepper: ¼ teaspoons (1g)
- Herbs: 1 spoon (15g)
- Crème Fraîche: 100g
- Potato: 175g
Step #1: Cook potatoes (15 minutes)
Peel, clean and cook potatoes like you would usually do, but cook them 5 minutes longer to achieve slightly over-cooked, creamy consistency. You can prepare everything else while the potatoes cook.
Step #2: Slice and dice everything (3 minutes)
Dice chicken breast into 2-cm or 1-inch cubes.
Slice onion and red pepper into slices.
Step #3: Fry everything (5 minutes)
On a high heat start frying the chicken until golden brown from each side. Add onions and fry until onion slices are soft, then add red pepper and stir constantly until it starts getting soft.
Step #4: Make the sauce (5 minutes)
Pour the Crème Fraîche over the chicken with vegetables and stir everything thoroughly. Let it cook for a minute to warm up and season with dried sweet and hot pepper, dried garlic, salt and pepper.
After the 3 minutes of cooking everything, when the sauce starts getting thick, add herbs, stir and serve immediately on hot potatoes!
